I am an illustrator who grew up in Tanzania. I enjoy digital art and have an appreciation for traditional art styles. I love odd combinations and lots of texture in work. I have always wanted to be an artist. I studied Applied Illustration at the Stellenbosch Academy of Design and Photography.
As an illustrator I beleive that meaning is important for my work. I like to depict reality in unrealistic ways through colour, subject and textures. I usually replace humans with animals in my stories as I enjoy the character design of them and it diverges from the seriousness of the meaning behind the work. Digital platforms like Procreate are my favourite to work on although I did start my career as a traditional illustrator. I am interested in graphic novels and tattoo art.
